As not only a foreigner, but also the newest and youngest member of the Wyrmhole company, Saffron Minov’s background is still mostly unknown. She was born and raised in Albion by her mother, the somewhat notorious Sun Elven thief Lhenastre Astravar. In fact, it is accurate to say that more is known about Saffron’s mother than about Saffron herself.

Growing up in Albion, Saffron’s father Corvin Minov was often away from his family for extensive periods of time for what her parents would only explain as “work”. Her mother, as wild as she ever was and vastly unprepared for motherhood, treated Saffron as more of a sibling, and raised her on the only thing she knew… roguery. From the time she was old enough to hold a lock pick, Saffron was schooled in the arts of opening and disabling locks and traps, sleight-of-hand, acrobatics, and sneaking. Due to her mother’s profession and adventurous spirit, they rarely stayed in one place long. Therefore, Lhenastre was the only real constant in Saffron’s life, and it is not difficult to see how that has rubbed off. The two are uncannily similar in personality and demeanor, and though most people assume she is half Moon elf by sight, those who meet Saffron have little trouble guessing her parentage.

Understandably, the law was never something that was made particularly important to Saffron as she was growing up. With only her mother’s questionable example, the girl has been raised with little in the way of a moral compass. This is something that has occasionally put her at odds with other members of the Wyrmhole company. To her credit however, most of the time Saffron honestly does not seem to realize that she is doing wrong, or else her thievery is so second-nature that she simply forgets she has done it. Her upbringing has brought her to the attention of the authorities more than once. Her latest run-in with the law occurred after she joined her friend Toulea to seek revenge on the hate-group the Quarryman for vandalizing their company’s van. Aisling Corvina was able to secure the girl’s freedom from the Magisters, with a strict warning that she is never to get herself arrested again.

A few months after her 18th birthday, Saffron’s father went missing while away on a job, and for over a year Saffron and her mother were constantly on the move in search of him. When the search became too dangerous to drag a teenaged half-elf along, Lhenastre left Saffron in the care of her old adventuring partner, Corvina (or “Corvie” to Saffron, though other members of the party have been warned against adopting that nickname). The head of the Wyrmhole company has been something of an Aunt to Saffron her entire life, and wasted no time in putting her skilled niece to work both in her bar and her adventuring company. Currently Saffron works as both mini-skirted cocktail waitress at the bar and resident Rogue in the adventuring company. Some interesting details about her mother’s life have recently come to light, prompting many of the party members to wonder (rather vocally) if she is not actually the daughter of the immortal Sightless Master, Mau. Although Toulea insists that Saffron’s true father remains the man who raised her, the situation and timeline make it impossible to know for sure. Regardless, Saffron certainly seems to feel some sort of kinship and affection for the blind swordsman, and has taken up his trademark weapon, the iron umbrella. She has also recently become acquainted with the master thief the Sparrowhawk, who has gifted to her journals and other equipment to aid her in her Rogue-ly pursuits.

Despite her borderline neglectful upbringing, Saffron has shown great affection and concern for both of her parents, as well as Corvina and Mau. She has also developed quite a strong attachment to the bassist of the Long Eared Faggots, Gent. Although it looked as if her attentions were swaying momentarily towards the platinum dragon Caex, his subsequent departure and the belief that he has “more important things to do” have set her sights back on her original crush. While Gent and the rest of the company’s influence does seem to have put an end to her casual thievery, her nocturnal habits outside of adventuring remain mostly unknown, and the question of whether she is really as vapid as she seems has been uttered by more than one of her party members.
